If you’re a dog lover like me then you know that choosing just one dog as a pet is not an easy feat. To be honest, I wanted them all! But I had to settle for just one of the fur babies to be my best friend.
Choosing a dog is like having to choose one candy from the whole store. You don’t want to be looking back after choosing, wondering if you’ve made the right choice or if you should’ve chosen another. And the fact that there are a host of breeds of dogs doesn’t make it any easier!
For this reason, it’s important to know which breed is best when choosing a dog. I know some might disagree with me, but believe me when I say that German Shepherds are it! Not convinced? Let me give you some reasons why.
German Shepherds should be the breed of choice for you and your family because of:
- Their adaptability
This awesome breed of dogs is resilient and adaptable, so much so that its type is capable of excelling regardless of climate, altitude, or weather. This makes it easy for them to dwell in whatever environment, whether rural or metropolitan or anything in between.
- Their trainability
Ever looked at a movie and wondered how they got the German Shepherd dog to do such cool tricks? Perhaps you thought it was different dogs they were using huh? It was the same dog throughout the film, and they used the German Shepherd because it’s the best breed for training. Even in real life, they’re a top choice for security dogs, because they’re uniquely easy to train!
- Their intelligence
Not only are German Shepherds easy to train and adaptable to any environment but they are also considered the third smartest breed. This means that 95% of the time they’re able to follow your very first command. They’re also able to understand a command after only about five times it’s given. How cool is that?
Now, these three reasons are only the tip of the iceberg on why a German Shepherd should be your pet of choice. There are other reasons including the fact that they’re highly affectionate and able to live peacefully with your family members and other pets you may have, they respond well to positive reinforcement, and they come in different colors and sizes!
